I wrote this on the fly. Specifically, I'm referring to what Gygax's wife has. Which so far seems to be nothing. Ernie and Luke were always "good gaming people" so whatever they do in the future its going to be worth another look see. I'm not so sure about Ernie's co-designer's sense of taste from seeing photos of his miniatures online... SHUDDER... but the Ernie dungeon is something that I'd still like to see. In regards to GYGAX as a "trademark" for the Gygax widow, if you think my wife could process all the shit that I have laying around after I'm dead then you'd be dead wrong.

She has more money to rattle legal sabers, and that was enough for Gygax Magazine. I'm guessing that with the Gygax brothers gone, it's dead in the water. I think Ernie may be making the same mistake Gary did with the CZ dungeons. People want to see the dungeons. That should be the priority. The other stuff may be cool, and people will buy it, but it's the dungeons that are generating the bulk of the interest.

I wish someone would say something positive about Gygax Enterprises so we can continue our admiration of the man.

I guess they finished that C&C version of LOST CITY OF GAXMOOR from a Kickstarter fundraiser (I didn't contribute anything BTW): www.trolllord.com/tlgstore/www.trolllord.com/tlgstore/#!/Castles-&-Crusades-Lost-City-of-Gaxmoor-Digital/p/57855031/category=11639170 and also have digital 3d maps (whatever that means): www.trolllord.com/tlgstore/#!/Castles-&-Crusades-Lost-City-of-Gaxmoor-Maps-Digital/p/57855037/category=11639170 What do you think? The book that I have from 2001 was okay but it felt like it was part 1 of a multi-part thing. I recall asking Ernie at GenCon 2002 about details and he seemed like that there was more to round it out.

I'd like to get the updated version of GAXMOOR. But it doesn't look like there is a print version for sale on that link. Do you happen to know if a print version is available to buy, anywhere?
As far as GYGAX Magazine goes, I am pretty indifferent. I got the first four issues and wasn't that interested in getting the fifth, even prior to this legal fallout. I thought the legal action would happen all along, and I even thought it was what was causing the delays to the magazine's initial launch way back when. Using GYGAX as the name of a magazine never seemed like a good idea to me, for a number of reasons.
The most memorable thing from the first four issues was Ernie's Marmoreal Tomb, so I am interested in that and his Hobby Shop Dungeon... and I can buy that separately.
I've tried to have a wait-and-see attitude about Gail's "plan" (yeah...) for rolling out unreleased EGG material, but at this point I've given up hope that the GYGAX trademark will be used in a productive way that honors EGG's wishes and/or style of creativity.

I thought Gary's plan was crap on ZAGYG because he had that dev forum which was a bad repeat of his LA years.

Whatever his wife is/was doing is most likely a far scream from that crap plan.

As I said up-thread, my problem with Gary's plan was everything that wasn't the dungeons. To me it was a waste of time and effort. People wanted the dungeons. That's where he should have concentrated his efforts. Unless you're doing Greyhawk City under an assumed name, Yggsburgh could have waited. Same with the expansion adventures, get the dungeon material drawn from the original done first and then worry about writing new side jaunts.

Yeah, I think the fear of lawsuits is what I had originally thought was the flavor killer but looking back hard his reaction to what the Troll Lords were producing was a "look the other way" mentality. There was a lot of Gary apologizing for Troll Lords productions in the most roundabout way you can imagine. He didn't know or care who Peter Bradley was, he kept saying that Clark Peterson was not involved with Troll Lords to his knowledge even though it was all over the internet with ads for coproductions as well as tag teaming Rob-bashing on forums, he kept acting as if the Chenaults had a good grip on fantasy style even though the evidence was non-existent in all the crap that I mentioned that I had bought (WORLD OF ERDE, etc.). At one point, I was asking him what he wants directly from me because his eagerness to humor my tough view was contradicted by all these D20 productions he was making.
Specifically, in regards to Castle Zagyg their was no way it was ever going to be good. His health was gone almost immediately after we saw him in 2002. I still want to see a D&D town like the way he described Greyhawk to me over any underground combos because we've already seen his style of dungeons in almost everything else. I know it stinks that all the mysteries of Greyhawk dungeons will never see the light but the first level should have had a taste of that Greyhawk mystery and it was as if it was to the tune of 2E or 3E GH products.
